Dermal Fillers

Injectable dermal fillers can be used for plumping thin lips, replacing lost volume and contouring the face and filling out lines and wrinkles. When injected correctly, they can be used to enhance facial features while still looking natural.

Dermal fillers are a gel-like substance made from hyaluronic acid which is an acid that occurs naturally in the skin. As we age, the skin loses collagen which then causes the skin to loosen and we lose volume, especially in the face.

A consultation is always carried out before any treatments with dermal fillers, where your goals and outcomes will be discussed. Your medical history will also be discussed, which includes your current medications and allergies, to ensure that you are suitable before going ahead with any treatments.

Bruising and swelling are normal and common side effects after having injectable dermal fillers, however this does settle within a couple of days. The use of arnica cream and following all aftercare advice given on the day of your treatment will help with any side effects.

The results of dermal fillers are instant, although there may be some swelling present initially. The results last from months to over a year, depending on the areas treated and the type of filler used.

Lip Filler

Lips are probably the most common area for treatment with dermal fillers.

Thin lips can be plumped, hydration can be restored and asymmetry can be corrected using filler in the lips.

Being an advanced aesthetics practitioner, I am trained in a number of advanced techniques that can be combined and tailored to each individual to give the best results for each client.

Jawline Filler

Filler can be injected along the jawline to give a contoured look to the face.

Jawline filler can also help to give the appearance of a slimmer face and helps to improve the appearance of jowls, which is sagging skin along the chin and jawline.

Filler along the jawline is placed with both cannula and needle techniques, dependent on each individual client's anatomy and the aims of the procedure.

Tear Trough Filler

As we age, we can lose volume under our eye area resulting in a 'trough' that can make eyes look tired and dark.

A specific type of filler can be placed in this area to add volume back and brighten the under eye areas.

This is mostly carried out using a cannula, making the experience pain-free and safe.

Chin Filler

Chin filler can be used to elongate and give a more contoured look to the face.

Dips in the chin can be evened out and asymmetry corrected.

As with jaw filler, the appearance of jowls can be corrected too.

Nasolabial Folds and Marionette Lines Filler

Nasolabial folds are the lines from our nose to mouth and marionette lines are the lines from our mouth to our chin.

Both deepen or develop as we age and lose volume and collagen in these areas.

Filler can be placed in these lines and creases to plump the areas and give a more youthful look.

Nose Filler

Nose filler, also known as non-surgical rhinoplasty, is used to smooth out bumps in the nose.

It is an alternative to a surgical procedure with no down-time.

The nasal tip can also be altered, giving a raised tip or 'pixie' tip using filler.

I am still undergoing advanced training for this treatment but it will be available to book very soon.

Cheek Filler

Cheek filler can be used to add definition and contour to the face when placed along the cheekbones. It can also be used to replace lost volume in the apples of our cheeks that is lost usually through aging.

Cheek filler can lift the whole face and gives a more defined and youthful look.

Filler Dissolving

Sometimes filler may need dissolving. This could be due to lumps or migration of filler, or because you don't like the look or feel of your dermal fillers any more.

Filler is easily dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. A patch test is required for filler dissolving and this will be carried out at the salon before your filler is dissolved. A consultation is also required before this treatment can be carried out.

Dissolving may cause swelling, redness and/or bruising. You cannot have any more filler for a minimum of 2 weeks after you have had any filler dissolved.

Cost

It is £100 per area for dermal filler dissolving.

I also offer a dissolve a re-fill package for £180 which includes the dissolving and a re-fill of up to 1ml.
